"Live Cultures"
2001 -- Various Artists

With the foundation of Petri Disk Studios firmly established in the winter of 2000 a new stage of musical production, writing, and composition had begun. To celebrate the first year's work in the lab the idea was born to compile all the various works that had been completed as a celebration and presentation to the public of Petri Disk Studios. Featuring Splintered Tree and alter-ego DJ Drunken Monkey the musical styles branched out even further to create a disparate but connected sound from the now Oakland based studios.

"Dark Town b/Shit Do Stink"
2004-Splintered Tree
and The Sweet Leaf Boys

The first release of 2004 for Splintered Tree Records. Both songs were recorded at Petri Disk Studios. Straight ahead dirty garage Rock 'n' Roll for all the ol' schoolers. Pressed on virgin vinyl only as a single to an upcoming full-length release entitled "Songs from the Holy Fool".

"Songs from the Holy Fool"

The Sweet Leaf Boys

(STR 006)

Petri Disk Studios played home and office for the production needs of the Boys for a span of 4 years of sporadic recording. It took a while, but the results are in with an excellent collection of songs sewn together with the threads of quirky songwriting, goofy lyrics, and smirking political commentary. Although the overall feel of these songs is loose and "lo-fi", it lends itself perfectly to the esthetic of the band and their trashy garage rock vibe.

CD-------"Dynamite Soul Projections" (unreleased)

Drunken Monkey's long-coming debut album featuring the songwriting and production skills honed over 5 years tirelessly working in Petri Disk Studios. Features collaborations with Gavin Hardkiss, Ean Golden, Swan, and many more talented SF Bay Area musicians.
